Brazil Region

Our Founder Rev.Fr.John Chrysostom,O.F.M. Cap, as a young Priest dreamt of going to Brazil which came true through the then Superior General and Council during the Mission Centenary in 1993.

The Brazil mission began with three Sisters Gemma, Veronica & Sheila on 21st November 1993, the Feast of Christ the King. They were welcomed by Fr. Ricardo Backes O.F.M.- a zealous dedicated missionary. The first apostolate began at São Paulo in the Parish of our Lady of Fatima.

The Sisters engaged in the Parish pastoral ministries, such as visiting the prison, treating Aids patients, praying in the Families, working with drug addicts, visiting peripheral families, working in the Crèche for poor children whose parents work as daily wagers, Parish pastoral activities, Catechism, taking Communion to the old and the sick.
This year 2025 the mission has completed 31 years of its existence and we are grateful to the many blessings received to hundreds of people through these challenging works of mercy.
