Message from the Provincial
With joy and gratitude, we welcome the launch of the FSMA Generalate website — a new step in our journey of communion, Communication and mission. This platform becomes a space not only for sharing news and updates, but more importantly, for deepening our connectedness as one Franciscan family across the provinces.
In 1992 on 5th December, the then Superior General Sister M. Ishlata, announced at the Centenary Celebration meeting that Mhow is bifurcated into Mhow Province and Aligarh Province. Sister Stanislaus was nominated Provincial of the Aligarh Province and Sister Cyrilla was nominated Provincial of the Mhow Province. The Provinces started functioning on 1st July 1993.
After having purchased a piece of Land at Jaipur for the Construction of the Provincialate, the name of Aligarh Province was changed to Jaipur Province. On 20th October 1998 Sr. Joanna was elected as the Provincial of Jaipur Province. The Jaipur Provincilate was blessed on 5th May 2002. The Jaipur Province of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Mary of the Angels (FSMA) has strived to live the Gospel in simplicity, humility, and loving service. Rooted in the spirit of St. Francis and the maternal care of Mary, we are committed to bringing Christ’s light to those on the margins — especially the poor, the lost and the least.
We are deeply grateful to God for His constant guidance, and to Sr. Roshan, Superior General and her team for envisioning this initiative. We also extend our sincere thanks to all our sisters, collaborators, and benefactors who have walked with us in faith and mission.
May this website be a source of inspiration, unity, and hope for all who visit it. Let us continue to echo the words of Scripture in our lives: “Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.” (Hebrews 10:9)
