France Province

Our Institute was founded in 1871 by Fr. Chrysostom O.F.M. (Ferdinand Potton) and Sr. M. Chrysostom of the Cross (Caroline Rurange), at the request of Msgr. Emile Freppel, Bishop of Angers, to care for the orphans of the Franco-Prussian war. Since 1892 the Founders took initiative to spread to other parts of the world. L’ Esviere is the cradle of FSMA and we owe thanks to the entire pioneer Sisters. The Eucharistic adoration has empowered the Sisters to toil much to live up to the Charism. The FSMA Institute has completed 154 years of its birth but it has spread the message of Jesus through Education, Healing ministry, Social and Pastoral activities.

Having realized a decline in French Vocations and ebbing age, the Institute has now decided to collaborate with ‘ FONDACIO ‘ after signing an Alliance between both the parties on 28th April 2019 under the then Superior General, Sr.Cyrilla, Provincial of France, Sr.Annie Dez and President of Fondacio ,Franciose Prouteau.

The l’Esviere Community collaborates with the Fondacio movement and has brought a ray of hope for the existence of FSMA in France. Sr.Annie does her very best to foster the growth of our Institute associating with Fondacio to the utmost. Presently two young Indian sisters are initiated to team up with the Fondacio besides Sr.Annie Dez.

Let us all join hands together to continue the vibrancy of our Mother House and continue to keep its flame ever burning through our presence and jointly with Fondacio to continue our Charism ever anew.

Alliance with the ‘FONDACIO’ has illuminated our Mother House with works of mercy, where the poor find a home, youth find a path to explore their talents, avail of the possibilities for Counseling and a place where one can search for meaning in life by coming together as a fraternity .The lonely come to have a good meal on Tuesday afternoon, share and recreate. A place to study the bible, pray together, sing for concerts based on a theme to convey a special message to the world around and work for a common mission.

May we grow in the spirit of unity and faithfulness to our call placing ourselves at the feet of our Founders and draw blessings for our day to day living by being compassionate to wipe the tears of humanity, first in our communities, and then to the world around.
